Players thrilled to have Rilee in Knights camp─── MORGAN PIEK 09:25 Sat, 12 Oct 2024
“From watching him when I was 14-years-old to sitting next to him in the change room is something that I would have never thought would happen.”
The Knights players are excited to have the experienced Rilee Rossouw back in their squad for the ongoing CSA T20 Challenge.
Rossouw made his return to the team on Wednesday night during the 47-run defeat to the Lions in Bloemfontein.
It was the first time in two seasons that the in-demand player played for the Free State and many in the camp hadn’t played with him before.
Rossouw only managed to score six runs on Wednesday, however, he took a brilliant catch to dismiss Evan Jones. His mere presence is something that motivates the players around him and he will be quite important in Saturday’s game against the Titans in Centurion.
The Knights allrounder, Dian Forrester, told OFM Sport that he never thought he’d get to play with the Free State legend.
“With Rilee back in the team I think it has been amazing,” said the young allrounder who has shown great form early in the season.

“He is a legend of the game and I agree with that. It’s been amazing having him in the changeroom – just being able to chat to him, picking his brain for a bit of information, how it was for him, and how he approaches the game.
“From watching him when I was 14 years old to sitting next to him in the change room is something I would have never thought would happen. He has just been amazing in the camp – always funny and always competitive. I think the boys are very happy that he is there with us.
“I’m very excited to see what is going to happen and I know as a team we are going to improve in the last few games and we are going to bounce back from the latest loss.”
Sunday’s T20 Challenge game between the Titans and Knights at SuperSport Park is scheduled to start at 14:00.
