Knights remain positive heading into first away games─── MORGAN PIEK 09:28 Fri, 04 Oct 2024
“I wouldn’t say there is any panic in the camp, we all know what we are doing. We stick together and we worked hard this week learning into the two-way games.”
The Knights remain positive and upbeat ahead of their first two matches on the road in the CSA T20 Challenge.
On Friday the Knights will face Boland in Paarl, while on Sunday they will be up against the Warriors in Gqeberha.
On the weekend the Knights marked their return to Division 1 with a narrow 3-run defeat according to the DLS Method against the North West Dragons in Bloemfontein. The match could have gone either way as the Knights fell just short.
Boland will be a tricky challenge as they will also be desperate to get their campaign underway as their opening match of the season against Western Province at Newlands in Cape Town was a washout.
There were plenty of positives for the Knights against the Dragons, especially taking into account that it was their first game back in Division 1 after earning promotion.
The seasoned Knights and Proteas opening batter, Jacques Snyman, told OFM Sport that the mood in the camp remains upbeat.
“We had a very close game against the Dragons and I thought we played very good cricket,” said the big-hitting Snyman.

“I think we lost the game in the last two over with the bat. I wouldn’t say there is any panic in the camp, we all know what we are doing. We stick together and we worked hard this week learning into the two ways games.
“I don’t think there is any panic – we’ve worked really hard and we’re looking forward to the two away games. Hopefully we can get two away wins and come back home for a third victory.
“That’s the plan - we’ve worked hard on rectifying the things we should have. So, it’s definitely still positive and we’re looking forward to the next couple of games.”
Friday’s game between Boland and the Knights at Boland Park gets underway at 18:00.
