“There is also just her general energy around the group, she's a very chatty, lively person. So, to have her back in the dressing room, I think we instantly noticed she was back when she joined the changeroom today.”

The Proteas Women are delighted to have the experienced allrounder, Chloe Tryon, back with the team.

Tryon joined the team in India on Monday ahead of the crucial three-match T20 International series in Chennai.

Tryon has recovered from an injury and she has been declared fit for the series that forms part of South Africa’s preparations for the upcoming ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in Bangladesh.

Tryon not only brings a lot to the party with her experience, batting, and bowling, but she is a natural leader as well and that will be very handy in helping out the young captain, Laura Wolvaardt.

The in-form Proteas skipper, Wolvaardt, told OFM Sport that Tryon brings a lot of energy to the team and it’s great to have her back in camp.

“It's awesome to have her back, especially for T20 cricket,” said Wolvaardt.

“She's an awesome T20 player and I think she's obviously a very explosive batter, so to have her slot back into that middle-order is amazing. Then to have that left-arm spin option in T20s, she's been very effective for us and very effective in various leagues around the world with the bowling as well.

“More than that as well, like you mentioned, obviously helping me with a lot of plans and captaincy stuff. There is also just her general energy around the group, she's a very chatty, lively person. So, to have her back in the dressing room, I think we instantly noticed she was back when she joined the changeroom today.

“It's awesome to have her back in the squad and hopefully she has a good series.”

The first T20 International between India and South African will be played on Friday in Chennai.
