“We adapted really well as the conditions were challenging. That's been the success story for us so far. If bowlers and batters adapt, things fall in place.”
India will face South Africa on Saturday in the final of the ICC T20 World Cup in Barbados.
On Thursday, night India beat the defending champions England by 68-runs to book their spot in the final against the Proteas
After a rain delay India scored 171/7 in their 20 overs with the captain Rohit Sharma scoring 57 and Suryakumar Yadav scoring 47.
Chris Jordan was the pick of the English bowlers with 3/37 while Adil Rashid also had a tidy spell with 1/25 in his 4-overs.
In reply, England was bowled out for 103-runs in 16.4 overs with Kuldeep Yadav taking 3/19 and Axar Patel taking 3/23.
Harry Brook top-scored for the English with 25-runs, while the captain Jos Buttler scored 23 and Jofra Archer scored 21.
Speaking after the semi-final Sharma said the win was certainly very satisfying and his team adapted well to the conditions.
“It was very satisfying to win – we worked very hard as a unit and it was a great effort from all,” said Sharma.
“We adapted really well as the conditions were challenging. That's been the success story for us so far. If bowlers and batters adapt, things fall in place.
“We've been calm as a team and the final is a big occasion but being composed helps make good decisions. I thought today we were steady and didn't panic. That's been key.
“We’ll try our best, team is in good shape. All I can hope is to put up a good show come the finals.”
Saturday’s big between South African and India in Barbados gets underway at 16:30.
