The ITEC Knights have received a major boost ahead the CSA T20 Challenge that gets underway on Monday in Potchefstroom.

The Proteas batter and regular captain, Pite van Biljon, has been declared fit and has been named in the 15-man squad that will be based in Klerksdorp for the duration of the tournament.

Van Biljon has sufficiently recovered from the Covid-19 complications he developed while playing cricket during the off season in the Netherlands.

Aubrey Swanepoel will however game the Knights in the tournament and he told OFM Sport that they are ready and geared to take to the park.

"Now it's just time to go out and enjoy it, and play without fear of failure and just make the best of it," said Swanepoel.

"The guys are gelling nicely and the 15 players going there, plus the coaches and management, are really looking forward to the next two or three weeks together as a unit.

"There are big shoulders to lean on with the coaches and the players, so we're really just looking forward to being on the park.

"We can't wait for the cricket to even start."

The Knights face the Warriors at 14:30 on Tuesday at the JB Marks Oval in their opening game.

Knights squad - Gihahn Cloete, Jacques Snyman, Josh Cobb, Aubrey Swanepoel (captain), Patrick Kruger, Pite van Biljon, Gerald Coetzee, Migael Pretorius, Alfred Mothoa, Mbulelo Budaza, Mbongi Mhlanga, Nealan van Heerden, Nathan Roux, Orapeleng Motlhoaring, Raynard Van Tonder.
