A large-scale search operation has been launched following the mysterious disappearance of three police constables who were last seen travelling from the Free State to Limpopo last week.

The missing officers – Constable Linda Cebekhulu (24), Constable Keamogetswe Buys (30), and Constable Boipelo Senoge (20) were en route in a white VW Polo sedan when they vanished without a trace.

According to national police spokesperson, Brigadier Athlenda Mathe, they were last seen at the Engen garage near the Grasmere toll plaza on the N1 highway on Wednesday (23/4).

The three constables, who were off-duty at the time, were reportedly travelling from Bloemfontein back to their deployment location in Limpopo when they went missing.

“A 24-hour Venue Operational Centre (VOC) has been established and a full-scale search is underway with a high-level team of detectives and crime intelligence operators from Gauteng and the Free State mobilised to find them,” Mathe added.

The National Commissioner of the South African Police Service, General Fannie Masemola, has also appealed to members of the public for any information that may help locate the missing officers.Constable Boipelo Senoge (20). Photo supplied
