“A total of 30 cars were taken off the streets of Mangaung by traffic officers this morning.”
A total of 30 vehicles were impounded on Monday (5/2). Since the beginning of the year, motorists of the ailing metro were made very aware of law enforcement agencies. This morning, enforcement officers of Mangaung Traffic and Law were out in full swing in the Bloemfontein Central Business District to enforce bylaws.

Mangaung spokesperson, Qondile Khedama, said this is part of the city’s ongoing campaign to ensure motorists abide by the rules of the road. A total of 30 cars were taken off the streets by traffic officers Monday morning.

Khedama added that most of these cars were parked illegally. The impounded cars were taken to the metro’s fleet services and will only be released upon payment. Motorists have since been urged to park in designated areas and to refrain from parking on solid, red lines.
