He said corruption delays the rate of services. They have investigated several cases in the Free State and are investigating the former Office of the Premier. Their job is to ensure clean governance.

”We are here not to investigate people. We're investigating processes, and processes will lead to people either being guilty or not. If we find that processes were not executed in a fair manner, we will then deal with the issue. We as the SIU felt that we should visit the Free State as we have been visiting other parts of the country.”
The stakeholder engagement is part of working toward building a corruption-free Free State.
Free State Premier Mxolisi Dukwana and SIU Head Advocate, Andy Mothibi, are set to address the gathering.
Over the past years, the SIU announced their investigations across several departments alleged to have transgressed the Public Finance Management Act, among others.
Recently, the unit announced that it would scrutinise the state of affairs at the Free State Premier's Office, including two former premiers' tenures.
Members of the Executive Council, heads of departments, chief Financial officers, heads of state institutions in the province, and mayors and executive mayors will attend the engagement. The MEC for Education, Makalo Mohale, and MEC for Treasury, Gadija Brown, also attended.
