The detectives were focusing in particular on persons who had been accused of contact crimes and crimes involving property.
These tracing activities were overseen by the Deputy Provincial Commissioner for Crime Detection, Mmantsheke Lekhele, who briefed a team of detectives at the Galeshewe Police Station before they carried out their duties yesterday.
116 wanted suspects were arrested for crimes including assault, assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm, attempted murder, robbery, theft, and malicious damage to property.
“Those who violate their bail terms will be found, brought before a judge, and no stone will be left unturned in bringing them to justice,” says Lekhele.
The Provincial Commissioner of the SAPS, Koliswa Otola, commended the detectives for their remarkable and unrelenting efforts in bringing perpetrators before the court.
The arrested suspects will be appearing in court soon.
