Sambatha said Luke is one of the best specialist clinicians and has demonstrated his capabilities as the head of clinical services at the Klerksdorp/Tshepong Hospital complex, citing his expertise has benefited the rest of the province as other hospitals refer patients to Klerksdorp.
He says it is not surprising that his expertise has caught the attention of the international communities.
Luke is the head of the complex since 2014, and he is also a medical tertiary coordinator, serving as a medical advisor to the deputy director general for clinical services in the province.
Departmental spokesperson, Tebogo Lekgethwane, told OFM News that this award comes after a rigorous peer review by international peers and it is based on the contribution to medicine and Royal College over the years.
Sambatha has encouraged other clinicians in the province to emulate Luke. He said the Dr Kenneth Kaunda District Municipality is fortunate to have a brilliant individual like him.
