North West Education ready for teaching and learning─── KEKELETSO MOSEBETSI 06:32 Wed, 11 Jan 2023
The North West Department of Education says that it is ready for the new academic year.
The MEC for Education, Viola Motsumi, emphasised that "it's all systems go" for the first day of school. This after stating that the delivery of stationery and text books is currently at 99%, with the hope that it will be at 100% by the end of the day.
She also highlighted that the classroom space in schools will be ready to accommodate learners after she pleaded with parents to register their children on time to avoid waiting in long lines when schools reopen. She condemned any acts that might disrupt schooling.
The spokesperson for North West Education, Elias Malindi, has confirmed that Motsumi will visit the Swartruggens Intermediate School, Dirang Primary School in Klipgat near Mabopane and Pelokgale Primary School and Tshedimosetso Secondary School in Kanana near Orkney to monitor the reopening of schools.
He adds that members of the Provincial Legislature, councillors and officials of the department will also visit schools across the province to monitor the readiness of the schools' reopening.
