Vaal substation vandalised─── 07:04 Mon, 25 Jul 2022

Vandalism of a Vaal Triangle substation led to Eskom discontinuing electricity supply to Sebokeng.
The Seboka substation's control room was vandalised on Saturday.
Its panel wiring and cables were cut, creating a major risk for the transformer as its protection had been compromised.
Just last week, in the same area, the Masiza substation exploded - with technicians still conducting an assessment to determine the extent of the damage at both stations.
Most areas in Sebokeng and Evaton have been without electricity since last week.
In a short statement, the Power Utility did not estimate when power will be fully restored.
No arrests have been made.
