Parts of Vanderbijlpark still in the dark─── 13:10 Thu, 21 Apr 2022
Some residents in Vanderbijlpark in the Vaal Triangle, and surrounding areas - including the industrial area - are still without electricity since last week Friday.
This follows after three substations experienced technical challenges.
The Emfuleni local municipality has today confirmed that the delivery of a replacement transformer for the municipal substation will be done on Friday.

Meanwhile, cable repairs are underway at the two other affected substations.
The municipality will further communicate when power will be fully restored.

Various streets connecting to the Vanderbijlpark Central Business District (CBD), have been blocked by protesters, unhappy with the situation.
The streets have, however, been cleared for now.
