Free State Education launches anti-bullying campaign─── TSHEHLA KOTELI 10:39 Sun, 13 Mar 2022
Free State Education MEC, Tate Makgoe, will lead a new campaign against racism, sexism, bullying and other anti-social behaviour.
This follows multiple incidents of alleged racism, assault, and bullying in several schools in the Lejweleputswa District.
Makgoe, in a statement, identified the schools as Wessel Maree Secondary School, Dagbreek Primary School, and Bothaville Hoërskool.
Wessel Maree has previously been in the spotlight after a video of a teacher pushing a learner in class went viral on social media.

The Congress of South African Students (Cosas) brought the school to a standstill through picketing - despite the department announcing the teacher had been suspended pending an investigation.

Makgoe stated this campaign will first target former model C schools in the province.
The department will also use the campaign to encourage learners to come to school every day and not drop out.
The launch will take place on Tuesday, 15 March, at HTS Welkom.
