Emfuleni fails to pay workers’ salaries─── 10:06 Sat, 26 Feb 2022
The Emfuleni Local Municipality's employees are unhappy, after their employer failed to pay their February salaries on Friday.
In a short statement, the struggling municipality said that its FNB bank account, including the municipality's main bank account, has been attached yet again.
For this reason, the processing of salaries for February has been delayed.
Some employees indicated that they are slowly losing hope in the municipality, which is also struggling to provide its residents with basic services - including water and refuse collection.
The municipality did not reveal who has attached the two bank accounts.
