The United States’ Department of Agriculture has lifted its estimate for South Africa’s 2017-18 maize production to 13.2 million tonnes.
Head of Agribusiness research at the Agricultural Business Chamber (Agbiz) in South Africa, Wandile Sihlobo, spoke to Christal-Lize Muller about the effect it will have on the 2018-19 marketing year.
