Artists, storytellers, and actors from across South Africa will be part of ASSITEJ’s children’s theatre festival during Cradle of Creativity in August.
Curator Faye Kabali-Kagwa joins Yolanda Maartens in the OFM Art Beat to talk about the programme.
Cradle of Creativity serves to foster a space where children from the earliest possible age can experience art that takes them seriously and nurtures the artists who make this work through a vibrant intercultural exchange.
ASSITEJ South Africa’s theatre festival for children and young people has officially come to Johannesburg. The City of Gold will be abuzz with activity as Cradle of Creativity, a biennial roving theatre festival, will be taking place at the Market Theatre from 20 - 27 August 2023 under the theme: The Stories That Move Us.
This year’s festival was curated by Faye Kabali-Kagwa.
