Seisa Ramabodu: Residents requested to join the 'reopening walk' | News Article

Bloemfontein - Mangaung residents have been encouraged to be part of the community walk to the official re-opening of the Seisa Ramabodu Stadium on Wednesday.

The walk is organised by the Free State Department of Sports, Arts and Culture. The department’s Kgomotso Tlhakudi says they are expecting close to 17 000 people.

Construction of the stadium started in 2013 and is reported to be worth R300 million.

Tlhakudi says the walk will start at 10:00 from Mapikela House in Batho, Twin City Mall in Heidedal and Mangaung Outdoor Sports Centre in Rocklands. She says residents are expected to arrive early for registration.

Tlhakudi says the stadium will officially be handed over to the Mangaung Metro and there will be a soccer match between Bloemfontein Celtic and Mamelodi Sundowns to complete the event.
