Kuruman - Construction of the road in Kuruman which lead to schools closing down for more than three months is finally underway.
Speaking to OFM News earlier today, the secretary of the Joe Morolong Road Forum, Wilberforce Melore, said they are ecstatic that contractors, Tau Pele and Down Touch Investments, have commenced with the construction of the road.
Schooling in the John Toalo Gaetsewe District came to a halt in June, when members of the community started violent protests over the stretch of road they wanted tarred. Some 17 000 learners were affected.
