Bloemfontein - There were absolutely no tears for Grade 1’s in all three classes at Onze Rust Primary School in Uitsig, Bloemfontein this morning.
Schools in Central South Africa re-opened for the 2014 academic year, and all the focus was on Grade 1’s who began their schooling careers.
Reading for school was, Emihle Qwabe (6) from General De Wet.
Madeline Bekker from Uitsig accompanied her son, Quinton (6) to school.
Grade 1 teacher, Edelweiss Gildenhuys, also started her first day as Grade 1 teacher.
Lee-Ann Flanegan from Bloemspruit was also in the Onze Rust Grade 1 Afrikaans class.
