Bloemfontein - Sub-Saharan Africa's first digital planetarium will start operating in July. The planetarium, at Naval Hill in Bloemfontein, will not only provide viewers with an audio-visual display, but will also allow scientific researchers to present their findings visually. Mayoral Committee member Papiki Moeng says the statue precinct, which will get additional viewing platforms and parking, will also be furnished with a restaurant. Moeng says currently there are two viewing platforms at the hill.
Thirty thousand people and 10 000 cars visited Naval Hill between December last year and January this year.
