Locals clean vandalised Louw Wepener statue─── THANDI THANDI 11:54 Sat, 18 Jul 2015
Wepener - Former students of Louw Wepener School in Wepener will spend their 67 minutes of Mandela Day cleaning and restoring the statue of commander Louw Wepener, which was vandalised this week.
The statue, which stands in front of the city hall, was defaced with white paint and spray-painted on Wednesday night.
The municipality's official Nelson Mandela Day programme is set to commence at 2pm.
