A group of UFS students assembled in front of the Bloemfontein main campus gate on Tuesday morning.
The disgruntled group says some students at the university are still financially excluded and the university has failed to heed their call.
The group allege some students are still unable to register due to their historical debt, and the institution is not doing much to assist academically deserving students who face financial difficulties.
The group, joined by some workers at the gate, have vowed to disrupt classes and shut down campuses should the university management fail to come to the table.
Issues of funding, campus access, and the academic programme are amongst those sought to be addressed urgently.
The gathering outside the main gate on Tuesday morning comes just over a month since 24 protesters who were arrested outside the university's main campus on 11 March, were released. OFM News has reported on how they were arrested for contravening the Road Traffic Act and Gatherings Act.
Despite this, the group that took to the streets on Tuesday vow not to back down. Security has been tightened and they are present at all entrances.
Meanwhile, UFS spokesperson, Lacea Loader, is yet to respond to OFM News' inquiry.
