A teenage dream being lived and breathed humbly with gratitude each day while adding enjoyment to the lives of others. This is the work ethic Sam Ludidi brings to OFM, the sound of your life each day.
Familiar as the voice of OFM Sport, on weekdays, 06:00-09:00, Sam, is also the handsome face in the studio or next to the field for SuperSport.
Born in the Eastern Cape on 21 April 1994, Sam is in love with all things sport. While captaining various sports sides throughout his school career, the radio bug also bit.
He fondly recalls how at the age of 15 he spent one morning listening to a breakfast show while his father drove him to school.
This newfound curiosity led him to choose the University of the Free State in Bloemfontein to further his studies as they had an active radio station he could participate in.
Sam spent six years at campus radio station KovsieFm, two of them as sports editor and another two as programming manager, while still being behind the microphone.
Back on the sports field Sam played first-team cricket for Kovsies for four years and also served as a senior provision hockey umpire for the South African Hockey Association.
All this happened while perusing and landing a job as a new talent on SuperSport as a rugby presenter. In his time at SuperSport he’s covered various tournaments including the Varsity Cup, SuperSport Rugby Challenge, the Currie Cup and the Guinness Pro14.
In 2019, Sam was the natural choice to fill the vacancy left by the departure of the Sport presenter on OFM’s breakfast show.
Now, Sam is not only ‘famous’ throughout Central South Africa for his infectious laugh, but also for the energy and savvy he brings to OFM’s flagship programme.
