Chef Maradine gives us another easy dessert recipe to try this coming weekend.

INGREDIENTS:

2 bought puff pastry rolls

2 cups milk

2 tbsp sugar

60 grams custard powder

1 egg mixed

2 tbsp cold water

icing sugar to dust

INSTRUCTIONS:

Heat the oven to 200°C.
Prepare a very thick custard by heating the milk.
Add the sugar.
Mix the custard powder with two tablespoons of water.
Add the custard paste to the milk, stirring all the time over the heat until it gets thick and starts bubbling.
Remove from heat and allow to cool and thicken more.
Cut puff pastry into strips 6 x 3 cm. Cut edges out of the puff pastry, also 6 x 3 cm, but only 1cm wide.
Use egg mix to stick edges onto the puff pastry bottoms.
Fill each pastry strip with custard.
Brush edges with egg.
Bake for 15 minutes.
Dust with icing sugar just before serving.
