Two of his former Knights teammates, the seamers Shadley van Schalkwyk and Corné Dry, recently opted to go and play Major League Cricket in the USA as well.

Gous told OFM Sport that he will be teammates with Shadow once again.

“Very excited about the move to the USA. It’s a big one for my family and myself, we are basically moving to the other side of the world.

“Yet, we are very excited about our journey that is coming up. It was a massive and difficult decision for us, but we felt that it's an opportunity that you cannot let pass by.

“Two of my former teammates in Shadley van Schalkwyk and Corné Dry are already there. Luckily, Shadley and I will be playing for the same team in Seattle, so at least there is a friendly face I will be seeing there every day.

“You never know what can happen in a couple of years, but I know that there are certain rules according to the ICC and the USA that you need to follow in order to qualify.

“We just have to wait and see what can happen after a couple of years.

“For now I just what to go out there score as many runs as I can. The main thing is just to try and help and improve cricket in the USA.”
