For the first time in European Championship history, all four teams in a group are on equal points after two rounds, following Ukraine’s 2 – 1 win over Slovakia on Friday.  That means on Wednesday, when Belgium play Ukraine and Slovakia play Romania, all outcomes are possible.

Youri Tielemans opened the scoring for Belgium after just 73 seconds and a late goal by Manchester City star Kevin De Bruyne, secured the victory for the Belgians. 

In a Group F match, also on Saturday, Portugal easily advanced to the last 16 with a 3 – 0 win over Turkey.  Bernardo Silva scored Portugal’s first goal after 20 minutes, with an own goal by Turkey’s Samet Akaydin seven minutes later, giving Portugal a comfortable lead.  Bruno Fernandes scored in the second-half, securing the victory.

In Saturday’s final match, Georgia and the Czech Republic drew 1 – 1.  Georgia, the lowest ranked side in the tournament, claimed their first ever point in a major tournament.  Their goal was scored by George Mikautadze in stoppage time in the first-half, with the Czech Republic equalising in the form of Patrik Schick in the second-half.

In Sunday’s matches, Switzerland will take on Germany and Scotland will face Hungary.
