72 children injured, 2 critical, in KZN bus accident─── 11:31 Tue, 06 Aug 2019
Two children are in a critical condition after a school bus overturned on the Centacow Road near Underburg in KwaZulu-Natal on Tuesday morning.
Another 70 children sustained minor to moderate injuries.
ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring said the patients were all transported to the St Apollinaris hospital, near the scene of the accident.
"The children were treated for their injuries, and the critically injured provided with advanced life support interventions. Once treated, the one critically injured patient was airlifted to a hospital by a private medical helicopter. The remaining patients were transported by various services to nearby hospitals."
Meiring said local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
