Griquas continues relentless march to SA Cup final four─── ILSE SMALBERGER 09:39 Sat, 12 Apr 2025

The Suzuki Griquas are steadily marching to the finals of the SA Cup. Pieter Bergh’s chargers thrashed Eastern Province by 70-17 at the Suzuki Stadium in Kimberley on Friday afternoon.
The Griquas led by 14-10 at half-time, but the floodgates truly opened after the break for a convincing bonus point win.
Saturday features a full programme of four games. The winless Border Bulldogs hope to get some points on the board when they host the Boland Kavaliers in East London. The Leopards will have to keep their wits about them when they face second-on-the-log Pumas in Potchefstroom. In Kempton Park, the Valke will take on the Griffons, who have been the big surprise in this year’s tournament.
Cheetahs host the SWD Eagles
In Bloemfontein, the Cheetahs will host the SWD Eagles at the Toyota Stadium. Their backline will remain unchanged for Saturday’s match. In front, Sisonke Vumazonke shifts from eighth-man to flank, with Pierre Uys rotating to the bench. Neels Volschenk returns to the starting line-up and will pack down at the back of the scrum, while Andisa Ntsila retains the number six jersey for the fixture.
In the second row, Carl Wegner and Pieter Jansen van Vuren will start at lock, with regular captain Victor Sekekete set to make an impact off the bench. The Namibian international hooker, Chucky van der Westhuizen, will captain the team.
This afternoon’s match kicks off at 15:00.
