“We will take the win, there's obviously work-ons, but we know it will get tougher with Argentina and England in our pool, who are two physical and well drilled teams on attack as well as at set piece.”

The Junior Springboks will target back-to-back wins at the World Rugby U20 Championship when they face Argentina in Cape Town Thursday.

On Saturday night the hosts kicked their campaign off for a first time in 12-years with a resounding 57-5 win against Fiji at the Cape Town Stadium.

The Baby Boks managed to score eight tries in their win with Jurenzo Julius dotting down for a brace.

The Los Pumitas of Argentina in turn suffered a 40-21 defeat to England in their Group C clash.

The coach, Bafana Nhleko, said they’ve laid a solid foundation with the win.

“We will take the win, there's obviously work-ons, but we know it will get tougher with Argentina and England in our pool, who are two physical and well drilled teams on attack as well as at set piece.

“We spoke in the week about our set piece, and how important it would be to be disciplined and stick to our structure, so I’m glad we could do that.

“It's going to be important to manage the load of the squad throughout the tournament, and we could do that, thanks to the good platform provided by the pack.”

Thursday’s match between South Africa and Argentina at the Danie Craven Stadium kicks off at 19:00.
