De Haas has been named on the Cheetahs bench for the SuperRugby Unlocked clash against the Lions at Ellis Park tomorrow afternoon.

He comes onto the bench in the place of Tian Meyer, who in turn replaces the injured Ruan Pienaar in the number nine jersey.

The Lions in their turn are without the Springbok flyhalf, Elton Jantjies, who is out with a calf injury.

De Haas told OFM Sport that he looks forward to his first run in a Cheetahs jersey.

“I am really looking to this weekend. I think it is going to be amazing to go and play against the Lions at Ellis Park and make my debut for the Cheetahs.

“It is always a good thing to be able to match yourself against some of the best players in the country.

“I am just fortunate and humbled to be able to put on the Cheetahs jersey.”

Saturday’s game in Johannesburg kicks off at 16:30.
