Blommetjies has been a stalwart of the Cheetahs backline for the past six years, and in the process won the Currie Cup twice with the team.

In 2018 Blommetjies left the Cheetahs briefly for a stint with the Scarlets in Wales and the Leicester Tigers in England.

Blommetjies told OFM Sport that tomorrow night he will wear his jersey with pride.

“It is really a privilege to jog out for the Cheetahs on Friday evening for my 100th game.

“It’s been a long time coming since 2014 and I am blessed to the fullest. It’s just an honour to wear the Cheetahs jersey and I am pretty proud to wear it and on Friday I will wear that jersey with pride.

“I can just say thank you to the fans who have supported me through everything and sent me messages.

“I’m looking forward to my 100th game on Friday evening.”

Tomorrow evening’s game at the Toyota Stadium kicks off at 19:00.
