The Toyota Cheetahs travel to South Wales this where they will face the Dragons in Newport in their final Guinness PRO14 tour match.

The Cheetahs will look to cap off their tour with a win after a 36-12 defeat to Leinster in Dublin, and Saturday’s 20-10 loss to Ulster at Ravenhill.

The Cheetahs take a lot of heart out of Saturday’s defeat, after a much-improved performance in wet and cold conditions.

The Cheetahs lineout will need a lot of attention this week, as they squandered two possible tries against Ulster with the setpiece on Saturday.

Cheetahs coach, Hawies Fourie, told OFM Sport that he cannot fault any of his players this past, week and the crowd in Belfast has left a lasting impression.

“If there is something I can take with me for the rest of my coaching career, it will be the Ulster crowd. I have never experienced something like this in my life.

“It was absolutely awesome how they supported their team, and how they supported a guy like Ruan Pienaar when he jogged out of the tunnel for the warm-ups.

“The crowd erupted, chanted his name and cheered him on.

“He is a big legend over here, but he only achieved that because of the great support the fans give their team.

“It would be absolutely amazing if we could get that same support back home.

“They have songs that they sing throughout the game and they have made Ravenhill a fortress for their team. I can definitely see why Ruan is so fond of this place.

“In fact the whole week it was amazing to see how they know their game, know the players and interact with us, and the support for their team was just out of this world.”

Saturday’s game between the Dragons and Cheetahs at Rodney Parade kicks off at 19:15.
