The former Springbok under 20 winger, Luther Obi, is set to make his Toyota Cheetahs debut this weekend when they face the Stormers in Cape Town.


Obi has been named on the bench for the match, while Sergeal Petersen is fit and will start on the right wing.

Including Raymond Rhule, the Cheetahs boast with three former BabyBok wings in their match squad.

In an interesting move Franco Smith has opted to start Niel Marais at inside centre alongside the captain, Francois Venter, who has been declared fit.

Venter told OFM Sport that dangerous trio of Obi, Petersen and Rhule will definitely one of their strong points.

“The more we can get the ball to them the better for us,” said the Springbok outside centre.

“I’m excited to see them play especially Luther.

“With regards to Raymond and Sergeal, I think Sergeal is hungry to come back into the side and contribute.

“Raymond has been playing great rugby for us, so they are defiantly one of our strong points".

Saturday afternoon’s Super Rugby clash between the Stormers and the Cheetahs at Newlands in Cape Town kicks off at 17:15.
