Runners could choose between a full marathon (a qualifier for the Two Oceans and Comrades), a half-marathon or 10 kilometres.

The race has been taking place since 2016 and aims not only to create a competition platform for local runners but also to raise funds to support life-changing eye care initiatives in the Northern Cape. 

Proceeds from the event support essential eye care projects, including facilitating corneal transplants through donations to the Keratoconus Foundation of SA and purchasing intra-ocular lenses for cataract operations.
