Checo has his eye on the prize as he aims for a home ground win─── KAYLA BARKER 13:17 Sat, 29 Oct 2022

The Mexico City Grand Prix will take place on Sunday evening, the 30th of October and Sergio Perez, who is currently third in the standings, has his eyes set on a home ground win.
Just 3 weeks ago, Max Verstappen claimed the Championship but the season is not over yet and the 20th round is all geared for this race weekend.
Checo has stated his intentions regarding the Mexico City Grand Prix by telling reporters that the win is his target.
"I’ve dreamed a few times already about winning, and it would be massive for me. Obviously, that’s the target for Sunday."
Sergio Perez is Mexico City’s own home-town hero and with the crowd backing him with such passion it is expected to be a thrilling race.
Currently, Checo is standing in third, just two points behind Ferrari’s Charles Le Clerc. Having won two races thus far this season, namely the Monaco and Singapore Grand Prix's, a third win on home soil will be a sweet victory.
This win won’t be without a fight with Ferrari and Mercedes hot on the Red Bull drivers heels. Going into the race, Red Bull already have both the drivers’ and constructors’ championships in the bag.
Both Ferrari drivers, Sainz and Le Clerc took P1 and P2, respectively, in yesterday’s first practice round. Mercedes’ George Russel took P1 in Practice 2 yesterday after Ferrari’s Charles Le Clerc crashed out. Checo took P3 in Practice 1 and later P5 in Practice 2. He will have to secure a good pole position in the qualifying round leading up to Sunday’s race.
Sunday evening’s Mexican Grand Prix is set to begin at 22:00 at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez.
