SABC presenter's fraud case heading for trial─── LUCKY NKUYANE 11:31 Mon, 29 Mar 2021

The State says it's ready to take the matter against Lesedi FM's award-winning presenter, accused of tax fraud, to trial.
State prosecutor, Advocate Wellington Zamubuntu Sampisi, told the Bloemfontein Regional Court on Monday 29 March that the state is ready for plea and trial proceedings in the matter.
The SABC presenter, Motseki Leine, known as "Ba2cada", made his first brief appearance at regional court 17 on Monday. Leine is accused of submitting false VAT returns worth more than R1,7 million between 2014 and 2018. Magistrate Collen Nekosie postponed the matter between Leine and the state to 9 July 2021 for plea and trial.
He was caught by the Hawks after the South African Revenue Services (SARS) reported him to the authorities over suspicions of fraudulent activities. He is out on R5 000 bail.
The Botshabelo-born presenter earlier responded to his arrest and said he will prove that he does not make a lot of money as it has been alleged. He conceded that he has issued tax returns and added that "unfortunately as young business people, issues of tax returns are a challenge that many face".
