Living Limitless: Daphne Lee Centre in Klerksdorp─── 13:17 Tue, 29 Mar 2022

Mid-Morning Magic's Yolanda Maartens chats with Centre Manager, Michelle Venter.
The Daphne Lee Centre was established on 3 April 1981 as an initiative by Sr. Daphne Lee who identified a need for a place of safety for physically and mentally challenged adults who could not actively participate in the working environment.

The Centre was then situated at 4 Tolmay Street, Neserhof, in Klerksdorp and there were only 21 day workers at the Centre. With fundraising and other initiatives over the years, the Centre moved to its current address, at 10 Irene Street on 1 February 1994 and can now accommodate 38 residents and 22 day workers.
In the podcast below Yolanda Maartens chats with Michelle Venter, who shares more about the centre, the services they offer and how the public can help. Listen below.
