Bloemfontein - The Free State class of 2016 topped the class in style by being the only province to reach the 90% threshold in South Africa.
Last time the province led the country was in 2013.
It must have been a very shaky festive season for some after they had to wait a month to find out how well they did in the National Senior Certificate (NSC) exams just over a month ago.
Some even went to petrol stations as early as 02:00, if not earlier, in order to see their results in black and white in newspapers.
A few students gave their reaction to the results and they spoke about what they look forward to from here on out.
