Bloemfontein - A fifty-five year old cyclist suffered a major heart attack yesterday during the Road race of the MTN OFM Classic. Eddie Wallace was barely three kilometers into the race when his heart failed. Paramedics treated Wallace at the scene, before taking him to Mediclinic Bloemfontein. Hospital spokesperson, Amanda Appelgryn.
In a separate incident a 56-year old cyclist suffered severe chest pain after finishing the race and was taken to Mediclinic Bloemfontein with unstable angina. He is also being treated in the intensive care unit.
