Bloemfontein - Part time lecturers of Motheo FET College were yesterday on strike because they have not been paid their last month's salary. About 30 lecturers demanded that their wages be paid out immediately otherwise they will take legal steps against management. The lecturers should have been paid by June 9. Salary payment problems started last week when management requested attendance forms of classes for two weeks ago to be completed by the part time lecturers before they would be paid. Two weeks ago students were still on strike and there were not any classes, even though lecturers did arrive to teach. The attendance registers were therefore empty. Teboho Sempe, the HOD of Part Time Studies says they will consider legal action. The lecturers are scheduled to meet at the Bloemfontein Campus this morning to find out if there is any progress in the pay dispute.
