The Bloemfontein woman who was reported missing seven days ago, Seipati Lechoano, was found dead in her car’s boot at the parking lot of the Municipal building where she worked.

OFM previously reported that Lechoano was an employee at the Mangaung Metropolitan Municipality’s Anti-Fraud sub directorate and she was last seen alive last week Wednesday as she reported to work at around 07:30.

Spokesperson at the municipality, Qondile Khedama revealed that Lechoano’s body was found on Monday in her car at the Bram Fischer building’s basement parking lot.

Khedama said she was found with her hands and feet tied up and there were no visible injuries on her body.  All relevant role players and emergency services were mobilised to the scene for further investigation, following the gruesome discovery. A post mortem will be done to determine the exact cause of her death.

A case of kidnapping and murder has been lodged at the Parkweg police station and police are urging anyone with information to contact Detective Khen at 074 411 8175.

Meanwhile, Executive Mayor of the municipality, Olly Mlamleli, has expressed her sadness over the death and further said her pain is worsened by the fact that Lechoano is a woman. She sends her prayers to the family and says she also hopes for positive feedback from the police.
