This as the family and friends of a missing Seipati Lechoano also expressed their sadness and fear surrounding her disappearance. Mlamleli says she was shocked by the news that Lechoano, who works at an anti-fraud sub directorate, has been missing since earlier this week. 

She reportedly went to work at around 7:30, left shortly after and hasn't been seen since. OFM News previously reported that the woman's husband told police that his wife has a gambling problem and he went to a popular Bloemfontein casino to search for her, to no avail. Police say the husband does not know what Lechoano was wearing as she left for work early.
 
According to police, Lechoano's cell phone is off and the last person to communicate with her was her employee whom she texted back saying she is "still busy will be at work soon". Police have urged those with information of her whereabouts to come forward. Meanwhile, Mlamleli says she is aware that the family is devastated by this incident but says as the Mayor and a mother herself she understands the excruciating pain they are currently going through.
 
The mayor says her pain is further exacerbated by the fact that Lechoano is a woman. She sends her prayers to the family and says she also hope for positive feedback from the police.
