Mimosa Mall in Bloemfontein is looking at tightening their security after the second mall robbery in less than a month.
Mimosa Mall General Manager, Neelofar Issa, told OFM News' Olebogeng Motse, who was on the scene, that safety is a major concern for them and they will be looking at employing additional security guards to ensure the safety of both shoppers and staff.
Police spokesperson, Wendy Nkabi, says earlier this morning seven suspects, two of them armed, raided the jewellery shop, HDL, and demanded employees inside the shop to lie on the ground.
Nkabi tells OFM News that they took an undisclosed amount of jewellery and then fled via the basement parking in two separate vehicles.
No injuries have been reported.
She says the suspects were all wearing caps and cannot be identified yet. The police, Community Service Patrol Centre, and a helicopter were searching for the suspects.
