Traumatised shoppers offered counselling after mall robbery | News Article

The management of Mimosa Mall is offering traumatised shoppers counselling. This comes after the HDL Jewellery store at the Bloemfontein mall was robbed this morning.

Mimosa Mall General Manager, Neelofar Issa, told OFM News they recognise there may be individuals who bore witness to the incident and were left traumatised. Issa urges them to approach the mall for counselling, which they will organise for them. This, as the female shopper who was shoved by the suspects in the store during the incident, has been taken to Mediclinic Bloemfontein across the road.

Just after 9am five armed suspects entered the store. There is no indication yet as to what time they entered the mall exactly. Mall management says they were in possession of hammers and bags. They say they held staff at gunpoint, smashed jewellery cabinets and took an unconfirmed number of items from the store with them. Issa says the suspects left the shop about 1 min 20 secs after they entered.

No injuries were reported. This is the second robbery at the mall in less than a month, something which management is concerned about. They have committed to looking into beefing up security at the mall, in the light of the recent spate in mall robberies in the country.
