Seven suspects arrested in North West after looting incidents─── 15:35 Thu, 17 May 2018
Seven suspects between the ages of 19 and 37 were apprehended at Sgandaff and Andries Sections in Majakaneng village yesterday and today for possession of suspected stolen goods, public violence and malicious damage to property.
The first two suspects were arrested yesterday following an intelligence-driven track and recovery operation which was launched immediately after goods were looted from two trucks along the R104 in Majakaneng.
Goods such as mesh wire, plumbing material and plastic chairs were recovered.
The third suspect was apprehended for malicious damage and public violence for setting alight a BapoTrans bus. This morning four more suspects were arrested at Andries Section, after being linked to the incidents.
More goods were recovered.
