National Police Commissioner Khehla John Sitole will be visiting the Free State province today to engage with the local community.

Free State police spokesperson, Motantsi Makhele, says Sitole will be visiting the N8 roadblock and the Re-A-Hola Shopping Centre in Botshabelo where he will be engaging with motorists and community members. The purpose of Sitole’s visit is to hear the local community’s views on police visibility. Sitole was appointed by President Jacob Zuma as National Police Commissioner last month. He is the former Free State Provincial Commissioner.

Things are expected to get underway at 09:00. At around 10:30, Sitole will address the Botshabelo community at the Re-A-Hola Shopping Centre.

Sitole’s visit comes after the office of the Free State Premier, Ace Magashule, confirmed that Free State Department of Police, Roads and Transport head, Sandile Msibi, died yesterday at Netcare Sunninghill Hospital in Johannesburg following a long illness. Magashule’s spokesperson, Tiisetso Makhele, says Msibi was 55-years-old at the time of his death.
