Minister hosts energy imbizo in Bloem─── MOEKETSI MOGOTSI 11:28 Sat, 27 May 2017
Bloemfontein - Energy Minister Mmamoloko Kubayi is hosting an Energy Imbizo in Grasslands, Bloemfontein, this afternoon.
Kubayi will also engage with stakeholders.
She will be joined by Mangaung Executive Mayor, Olly Mlamleli, as well as Deputy Minister Thembisile Majola.
Department spokesperson, Nomvula Khalo, says they will also be checking on the progress of electrification.
“We have already electrified 1 000 houses. We are remaining with 400 homes that we are supposed to be electrifying. So we are just here to conclude Energy Month and to check if the electricity that we have put in houses is working and there are no complaints around it.”
The theme for the event is “Promoting an affordable and sustainable energy mix in support of radical socio-economic transformation.”
Khalo also says they will be creating electricity and energy awareness with the community members.
