Bloemfontein - The police in Bloemfontein are on the lookout for two suspects who together with three others gained access to and attempted to rob a car spares shop in the city this morning.

Police spokesperson, Peter Kareli, says police members from the Tactical Response Team and K9 unit received information that three people entered the dealership located in Krause Street at 05:30. He says upon arrival they saw two suspects waiting outside the shop in a getaway car.

Kareli says when the police members entered the shop the three suspects were busy ransacking it and looking for money. They were caught with money taken from the till in their possession.

Kareli says the other two suspects fled in an unknown vehicle when they saw the police approaching. “The dealership is not yet open, we are still busy at the scene. We are requesting that people stay away from the scene. We are still tracing the other two, our members are actually on their trail now. We might indicate by the end of the day that we have arrested the other two suspects,” says Kareli.

The suspects, aged between 30 and 40, are expected to appear in court on Monday on charges of robbery.
