Kimberley - Former ANC Provincial chairperson John Block has accused the presiding officer in the Trifecta corruption and money laundering trial, Northern Cape High Court Judge Mmathebe Phatsoane of "wilful and gross judicial neglect".

His legal representative Advocate Salie Joubert has requested sentencing procedures against the accused to be postponed for another four months to allow the Judicial Services Commission time to investigate Phatsoane.

The application is based on a telephone conversation that was apparently overheard between Phatsoane and the Northern Cape High Court Judge President Frans Kgomo where he allegedly advised her to convict the accused.

The state believes this  is hearsay evidence.

Proceedings were postponed until 14:00 today.
